Our family first met Alan when he lived at 1756 Grand Avenue and our mom, Pat, was the caretaker, many many many years ago. He has been a family friend ever since, lost touch over the last several years but, would always run into him either at Grand Ole Days or at the Fair. Our kids grew up calling him Uncle Al and it's always been what we called him ever since. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing and we will let our mom know tomorrow as well. Our condolences to the family. Rest easy Uncle Al.

I do not morn the loss of my friend. I morn for those who have never been blessed enough to know the good Doctor Alan Bradley. It is those unfortunate souls who suffer. They have never felt the joy, love, and unconditional dedication to friendship that he bestowed upon all who knew him. His life is a testimony to the greatness of being kind. For that, I will always be grateful. To him, and to his life, I will always be proud to call him my friend. I would take ten times the pride, and none of the credit, if he had considered me a friend. To be a friend to Alan, who is the greatest of friends, is an honor. I hope that someday I can be half as kind as Alan was on any Wednesday afternoon. His kindness was far beyond anything all of us could could pull together walking out of Sunday service. Alan was a saint... Not according to the archdiocese, but according to the city of Saint Paul. Alan Bradley was not gifted, Despite what he said. Alan Bradley was the gift itself. He was giving. He was humble... wait... Did I say humble? Well, not that one... The guy was great and we all knew it... As did he. We are all better because he was a part of our lives. Thank God, thank goodness, and thank Alan... For he is the one that was there for us when no one else was. There has never been a more giving individual than Alan Bradley. I was blessed to know him, thankful for him, and honored that he was willing to claim me as his friend. That is the badge of honor that I will hold dear. Once there was a great man, with great thoughts, who thought of me from time to time. For that, I am grateful.
